Partnering to Expand Educational Opportunity
The Sovereign Scholars Fund works with businesses, organizations, and community leaders who believe that determined students deserve access to educational opportunity.
Many students support themselves financially but are denied access to financial aid because they cannot complete the FAFSA with parental information.
The Sovereign Scholars program bridges this gap by providing temporary scholarship support while students establish financial independence and become eligible for federal financial aid.
Sponsors make this pathway possible.
Why Sponsors Support Sovereign Scholars
Sponsors are not simply funding a scholarship. They are supporting a structured pathway that helps students achieve long-term educational stability.
The Sovereign Scholars program combines:
• scholarship support
• employment partnerships
• financial independence preparation
• community tutoring service
This model ensures that students develop both the financial documentation and real-world work experience needed to continue their education successfully.
Employment Partnerships
Local businesses play a key role in the Sovereign Scholars program.
Partner businesses provide employment opportunities that allow scholars to earn income, build work experience, and generate the tax documentation needed to qualify for financial aid independently.
These partnerships strengthen both the program and the surrounding community.

Your investment is protected by our 100% Direct-Pay Model. We do not disburse cash to students. Funds are paid directly to educational institutions (Bursar offices) or verified vendors to cover tuition gaps, essential lab fees, and professional documentation (such as Notary fees or background checks for internships). Our 'W-2 Loop' strategy means that every dollar you give is a direct, strategic investment in unlocking a student's legal financial independence
-
Yes. We operate a 'Stealth Vetting' model, so we do not have traditional volunteer opportunities for the general public in order to protect the privacy of our scholars. However, we actively seek Corporate Partners who can provide mandatory paid internships—the crucial step in our W-2 Loop. If your business can 'Sponsor-an-Intern' or if you are an educational professional who can join our referral network, please contact the Trustee directly.
-
At this time, we primarily focus on financial investments to execute our strategic interventions. However, we do selectively accept high-value, in-kind contributions that directly serve a scholar’s professional readiness—such as legal services, specialized technology (laptops for coursework), or professional attire for internships. Please contact us to discuss the specific needs of our current cohort.
-
Absolutely. The Sovereign Scholars Fund itself was established to honor the life and advocacy of Angela DeAnna Corbin. We welcome legacy gifts. When you make a contribution, you may specify the honoree, and we will provide a formalized acknowledgment letter detailing how their legacy is helping another scholar achieve financial and academic sovereignty
